HELPING GOOD SAMARITAN HOSPITAL PREPARE FOR COVID-19
c|a ARCHITECTS HELPS GOOD SAMARITAN HOSPITAL PREPARE FOR COVID-19
In the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, c|a ARCHITECTS expressed the desire to be part of the solution in the battle to overcome this virus. Transforming this desire into action, we decided to offer to donate our time and services to our clients to help them better prepare for the possible impact that this event was expected to bring. One of the clients that accepted our offer was Good Samaritan Hospital in downtown Los Angeles. Worried about the potential impact of the virus on the city’s homeless population and the hospital’s ability to serve them, Good Samaritan Hospital asked us to provide a study to determine what it would take to transform their existing Administration Offices into an extension of their Emergency Department.
We examined the space in question and after studying the appropriate codes, provided the hospital with a solution. Conversion of this space into an Observation / Results Pending Area for COVID-19 Screening would free up enough space within the existing Emergency Department to meet the expected demand placed on the hospital.
c|a ARCHITECTS is proud to be a true partner with our hospital clients and we take to heart that WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER!
